Zhou Mingrui, an ordinary white-collar worker, awakens to find a hole in his head, a hole that's slowly squirming with brain juices. To be specific, it's not his head, but Klein Moretti's head. It's the head of a person he has possessed. When Zhou Mingrui awakens, he finds himself in a totally different world. He has come to an alternate universe that's similar to ancient Europe, circa-Victorian era. Everything here is filled with a hint of magic—a crimson moon, a mysterious death for the original Klein, and strange gods...
Zhou Mingrui is filled with curiosity towards the alien world, but he wishes to return to his original life on Earth. In his daze, he recalls the reason why he ended up being swept into this alien world—an ancient luck enhancement ritual. When he finally completes the ritual again, hoping that a mysterious power would return him home, he finds himself in a gray fog. Here, he can summon people and do nearly anything he wants...
Amid uncertainty and marvel, Zhou Mingrui, or should we say, Klein Moretti, begins his adventure in this mysterious world.

Zhou Mingrui (Klein Moretti)
I'm a little tired and a little sleepy, and I just want to eat stewed potatoes and meat for dinner—that was my first feeling when I first began reading LOM. My collegue told me, "You studied in the UK and this book's background is very similar to the UK in the Victorian era. It should resonate with you." However, I didn't feel the resonance in the beginning. This story's beginning is just filled with information. There's a lot of descriptions and unfamiliar terms about the environment and settings that erected a barrier to my reading. To be honest, if not for work, I'll probably drop this novel at the 1st or 2nd chapter. But when the protagonist does the luck enhancement ritual, I began finding the story interesting. Slowly, I continued reading and when I came to my senses, I realized that I was reading on the train after work... Due to its theme, it's not my favorite, but it's definitely considered a pleasant surprise to my daily life.
LOM is a a story that uses the UK's Victorian-era as its background. It's a fantasy story that fuses SCP, Steampunk, and Cthulhu settings. The protagonist is a transmigrator who is clever, amiable, and calm—definitely not OP. Unlike the typical web novel, LOM's story development is relatively slow. The first 40 chapters describe the style of the era and the characters in detail, but trust me, when you finish reading the early seemingly insipid chapters, the twists in the story that follow will definitely leave you surprised.
I've met the author, Cuttlefish That Loves Diving, and in my conversation with him, he doesn't feel like a web novel author. He's more like a scholar. His wise, profound, and knowledgeable personality is no doubt fully expressed in this book, Lord of the Mysteries. LOM is a very special novel on Webnovel. Its pace is relatively slow, without the usual face slapping every three chapters, or a climax every ten chapters. The early parts of the novel spends most of the content describing the system and the world's background and framework. This kind of slow writing style immerses the reader into a (seemingly) Victorian style Industrial Revolution era in England. Following the author's pace and ideas, a lot of foreshadowing is planted. Of course, this kind of "slowness" causes a number of readers to drop out early on. Furthermore, the tarot card setting is too complicated which adds to the reading difficulty for the reader. Even while reading it, I faced similar problems. If you are an experienced reader of web novels, or a reader who wants to try "something new," please be patient and slowly read this. The author's original text and the translator, CKtalon's high quality translations will tell you that it's worth it!
“Overall, for those fantasy, mystery and thriller lover, this is a perfect choice for you. Don't be discourage bcs of the Steampunk theme bcs it's not the main point in this story. This novel is full of adventure and mystery, it's like "Sherlock Holmes fantasy style" novel.”

I' ve been reading novels online for 14 years.
This masterpiece is one of the best novel I've ever read.
It's the type of novel that when you finish reading you will come back and read it again.
It is the type of book that you will still enjoy it after years when people's taste changed.
I've read over 7 hundreds novels so far.yea I know I have no life...)Just a few novels are qualified to add on my Collection list.
Highly recommend!
I first started growing an interest in Lord of Mysteries when the main character, Klein Moretti, was touted as the most well received character of 2018 on the site's banner. "Well, that's new. Novels are usually known for their plots or themes, not for singular characters." I said. It was indeed a peculiar way to advertise a novel. However, I can indeed say that it worked! The novel has many themes, which would end up feeling jumbled together if it weren't for the author's long term planning, world building and an uncanny ability to build hype.
That does come with some caveats, such as a slightly slow-moving main chain of events, but also allows to flesh out the surrounding of the protagonist and the world itself.
Overrall, the novel is the the slow, romantic and tense exploration of a world filled with mysterious powers, charming characters and dangerous opportunities.
