Writer’s Life

  1. QUESTION01

When did you start following web literature? And what motivated you to write original works?

I always liked to write, but I never published anything before Last Wish System. Previously I always tried to write conventional novels but I didn’t feel satisfied with the results. After start reading web novels, I felt that web novels were more fitting for my style than conventional novels, so I decided to try.

  2. QUESTION 02

What does your writing workspace look like? And how long do you spend writing every day?

My workspace is nothing special, it just a table with a huge TV as a monitor for the computer and a bit of random disorder around.

It depends on how many chapters I need to publish that day and how is my mood, so it is too oscillating, from two to twelve hours. Although normally is between four and eight.

  3. QUESTION 03

When faced with adversity, some people come through fine, and others seem to just fall apart. What gave you the courage to keep going in the early days, when times were tough?

Maybe I avoided problems because I started writing while thinking only in writing a story I like and not worrying too much if the novel will be a great success or not.

Fortunately, it seems that a lot of people like the same kind of stories than me, so the popularity increased a lot. Moreover, even the few readers I had at the start were awesome and give me good constructive reviews helping me to improve more.

  4. QUESTION 04

Does fan feedback influence you in any way? Share an interesting or unforgettable experience you’ve had with one of your readers?

I like to read all the feedback of my readers, although I could only read the comments in the last chapters; it is difficult to check over 200 chapters every day. However, I always read the new reviews.

I remember a reader who supported me a lot when the novel was recommended for the first time and a lot of haters emerged to insult me and the novel. I greatly appreciate the support from that reader who was the first but not the last when hatters attacked. Of course, I am thankful to everyone who had been supporting me.

Experience & Advice

  1. QUESTION 01

What stimulated Last Wish System at the very beginning?

Inkstone and the ideas I had for novels that I never write. When I heard about Inkstone launching I thought it was a good time to try to write a web novel and then I developed LWS.

What makes Last Wish System different from other works of the same type?

The leveling system and the past life of Yale, the main character. That isn't explored in much depth at the start to match with the lack of knowledge of Yale at that moment, but it's being slowly developed afterwards and the readers loved the uncovered mysteries until now. Of course there is still a lot covered by mystery.

  2. QUESTION 02

Can you share a sentence from your novel that you’re particularly proud of?

It is difficult to choose one without spoiling, so I recommend to not read the sentence if you haven't finished the Volume 6.

    SPOILER ALERT!

I like a lot a sentence said in the end of the chapter 181, even the title is part of that sentence.

"Sorry, but you are misunderstanding something. I am not Yale."

At that point of the story, Yale recovers temporally his personality and power from his past life and that sentence is one he says to one of his enemies who was looking down of him because he was still thinking that he was Yale who was far weaker than him.

  3. QUESTION 03

How do you optimize your novel for Webnovel? You prefer to keep the chapters long or short?

Even from before going premium my chapters were quite standardized in length. As long as the novel progressed they were even more standard in length and after being premium I ensured that all of them are in the length range of 8 Spirit Stones, to give my readers an easy time to plan how to use their stones.

  4. QUESTION 04

What’s the best advice about writing you’ve ever received?

"Improve your punctuation. You never use ;"

At the start I truly had a big problem with that, although I edited all the chapter after receiving such advice and fixed it. In Spanish there is almost no use for that type of punctuation, so it felt quite unnatural for me at the start.

  5. QUESTION 05

    Your top web novel?

Difficult question, I can’t decide between Coiling Dragon and Cultivation Chat Group, both are too different and difficult to compare.

Returns & Contracts

  1. QUESTION 01

What is your current income from writing web novels? Are you satisfied with the performance of your work and the reaction of your readers so far?

I don’t like speaking about numbers, but I can say that is more than the income of my previous full-time job.

  2. QUESTION 02

Your expectations regarding the returns from writing?

I hope to be able to live from writing web novels. Currently it seems that it is possible, so I hope people continue supporting me and I will continue writing for everyone.

  3. QUESTION 03

Recently, some fellows have shown their concerns about the contract. Can our contracted writers, especially amateur writers, earn money through writing on earth?

I have never published a novel before and I can earn money, so of course it is possible. Most of the rules of the contract aren't being used and are there just for extreme situations.

  4. QUESTION 04

What advice do you have for those eager to try some writing but without action, or writers hesitated about contractual issues whatsoever?

Maybe adding mystery or romance to the novel, but personally I don't like novels with zero action, so I can't give a good advice here.

The contract is worthy of singing it, don't hesitate. I can tell by my experience that being contracted by Webnovel is far better than Patreon or donations.
